Physical Hardware USB Edition: The software is strictly pre-installed on the encrypted physical USB device and cannot be reinstalled on any other device. The very first machine into which the physical USB drive is plugged will be permanently hardware-locked to that specific machine. You will be able to continuously use the forensic suite on that machine, but it will never operate on any other device. Be exceptionally careful which machine you plug it into; if it is plugged into an unintended computer, another unit must be purchased.
Digital Download License: Once downloaded and installed directly on a workstation (without a USB flash drive), it is permanently hardware-locked to that workstation only.
Digital USB Staging Protocol: If you install the Digital edition onto a USB flash drive, it binds directly to that USB drive and will then lock to the immediate next device it is plugged into. However, take extreme caution: if the software is executed directly on the host computer that prepared the USB, it will instantly and permanently lock to that host machine. Always follow the installation instructions with extreme care.
